WHAT?  My Astronaut

WHY SHOULD I WATCH?

This new series is done in a mockumentary-style. SpaceTek has a contest where ten finalists will be chosen to live in a space ship for four years and then eventually live on Mars, possibly for the rest of his or her or their lives. One of the contestants is Maggie Placek (Magdalena Waz) who is incredibly focused and dedicated to make her mind, body and soul fit for space. Maggie’s boyfriend is Micah (Micah Paisner) who has some social anxiety and ends up being more than the documentary team for SpaceTek had in mind. By the end of the first episode Maggie finds out that she is a semi-finalist and as such the camera crew from SpaceTek now has to follow her and Micah around 24/7.  This eight-episode web series asks the questions what would you do if there was a mission to colonize Mars and your girlfriend, a civilian, was a candidate to go on that mission? What lengths would you go to convince her to stay with you on planet Earth? Fun fact – a large part of episode five was secretly filmed inside an Ikea in Red Hook, New York. The web series is entertaining, and the premise is original and documentary style is very realistic. Each episode is approximately twelve to thirteen minutes in length and all of the episodes have been posted. If you are looking for a fun and entertaining web series, My Astronaut should definitely be one of your finalists!

WHERE CAN I WATCH?  All eight episodes have already been released and can be found on YouTube and Vimeo.
