WHY SHOULD I WATCH?
You’re the Pest follows the story of Alex O’Malley (Taylor Coriell) and Marissa Morales (Adriana DeGirolami) who are the daughters of two of the three founders of A.F.F.R.I.C.O. (Astoria Family Friendly Rodent and Insect Control Office) that is located in Astoria, New York. Both Alex and Marissa’s fathers died in a freak sky jumping accident and left the extermination business to their two daughters. Alex and Marissa do not know the first thing about running the company when they start and have been estranged friends for quite some time. When they are notified about the inheritance of the family business that would pay them each sixty-thousand a year, Marissa has been an out of work beauty queen who still insists that people call her Miss New York, even though she was crowned in 2012. Alex was in the Police Academy, but after unintentionally shooting her supervisor in the foot she quickly left. Taking over the family business gives each wayward daughter something to focus on, a new direction for their life and a steady paycheck. Once two of the three founders leave the business to their daughters, the son of the third founder (the man who came up with their name) seeks revenge and undergoes a multiple phase plan to steal the business from Alex and Marissa.
Both Coriell and DeGirolami portray characters that you want to root for and see succeed. Their differences make them the perfect odd couple and their ability to get under each other’s skin is a testament what used to be of their friendship.
So far, there have been seven episodes released. New episodes are released every Wednesday at 12:30 p.m. on YouTube.
