Q) What are the recent projects that you are working on?

A) “For the People” on ABC. It’s Shondaland’s new legal drama. Also, my brand new podcast called Wesam’s World where I have great talks with great people.

Q) What have you found challenging about your role?

A) Researching our law system and what a public defender does was an overwhelming experience in the best possible sense. I realized there was a lot about our own legal system I didn’t know about, let alone the nuisances of a public defender.

Q) How did you prepare to play an up and coming lawyer.

A) I was lucky enough to shadow a real public defender at the LA court house. I sat in on trials and pre-lims and got a tour of the courts. It was very eye opening.

Q) Talk about what it means to work on a Shondaland series.

A) It’s a great honor to be part of such a respectable and professional story telling production. The people are pretty amazing, too.

Q) What were some of your most memorable moments from filming “For The People?”

A) Prepping for my closing argument in Episode 2. I come from a heavy theater background so to have a big monologue like that in a TV show is rare. I wanted to knock it out of the park. I at least ran through that monologue a hundred times. I wanted to make sure I knew the lines forwards and backwards so that it was so ingrained in my brain that I could focus a hundred percent on living truthfully in the moment.

Q) What do you think it is about the show that will make it a fast fan favorite?

A) My stunning good looks and charm. Oh and my hilarious sense of humor. Did I mention I’m super handsome?

Q) You are a part of social media. Are you looking forward to the instant fan feedback you will receive to “For The People?”

A) Of course. I hope they enjoy the show greatly and really connect with all the characters and stories.

Q) We loved seeing you in “Awkward.” Do you still keep in touch with any of your castmates?

A) Yup! Brett Davern, especially now because both of our podcasts are in the Nice Guy Digital family, broadcasting on idobi radio and on iTunes podcasts.

Q) What would you like to say to everyone who is a fan and supporter of your work?

A) You owe me a hundred bucks. Each of you. Just kidding! Love you all and thank you from the bottom of my heart for your support.
