The episode starts with Emily (Hailee Steinfeld) being woken up by Mrs. Dickinson (Jane Krakowski). “Don´t make me go! I hate my life and I truly want to die,” Emily says. Mrs. Dickinson replies with, “This is why we need a spa day.” They are getting ready downstairs. Henry (Toby Huss) says it´s ridiculous that they are spending too much money. Aunt Lavinia (Jessica Hecht) walks in and says that Emily will feel so much better after the treatment. She will come back better than before she insists.

Sue (Ella Hunt) is entering the house while Emily is coming down the stairs. She asks her if she is coming with them. Apparently, Sue has been reading a book about etiquette and had to accept the invitation. And she is hoping today will be relaxing, but Emily is eager to talk to her about the opera. Aunt Lavinia asks if they are all packed to which Emily replies, “I only packed my bad attitude.”

Lavinia (Anna Baryshnikov) is also coming down the stairs cursing. It seems she lost her most powerful crystal that protects her from bad energy. Henry insists that they can´t afford it, but Mrs. Dickinson pays no attention and off they go.  At the spa they are all immerse in mud and getting some sort of sauna treatment. It seems they will all get out of their melancholic mood after it, but Emily asks, “What if that´s my brand?”

Emily wants to find a way to talk to Sue, so she goes and sits next to her. They find an excuse to leave as they want to try the body healer she insists. Emily regrets writing that letter to Sam´s (Finn Jones) wife. She tells Sue that she thinks that he won´t publish her anymore. Her brain is on fire. The healer confirms it and Emily replies, “That tracks.” Apparently, she does not believe in herself anymore and blames Sue because she introduced her to Sam. But Sue insists that she needs to relax and that everything is going to be okay.

They are getting all sort of treatments. Some water is being dropped on their heads. They are getting hit with some leaves. Then, they are all together sitting in some water.  Emily is getting an idea for a poem. As she starts to write in her head, Lavinia sees her and asks her if something in wrong. Emily insists that nothing is going on. Finally she tells her that she wishes she said yes to some of the marriage proposals she had in the past. Lavinia tells her that´s crazy and that she is above that because she´s her hero.

Back at Amherts Austin (Adrian Enscoe) is helping Jane (Gus Birney) write her will. They talk about how they were worrying about different things last year and now they are in their mid twenties adulting is hard. Jane asks him if he wants to hold her baby. They have a moment and kiss, but Jane stops it, insisting that they made their choice and have to live with it.

At the spa Emily runs into George (Samuel Farnsworth) and they start talking. Apparently, he has been sailing the world and got married. Emily thanks him for always believing in her. Emily´s mom insists they go to some sort of cocoon treatment, but it´s not going well. They are all wrapped up in a sheet and it´s very cold in them but then hot. Mrs. Dickinson is freaking out and they scream for help. They try to get out of it, but can´t. They start laughing, but Emily immediately turns to crying. Mrs. Dickinson wonders what is wrong and Emily replies, “I think I´ve fallen in love.” According to Mrs. Dickinson, “Someone who loves you should not make you feel sick. That´s not what love is.”

When they come back to Hamherst Emily tells Sue that she is feeling better and she is too says Sue. “I´m rooting for you,” she tells Emily. Then, they say goodbye. Inside the Dickinson house Emily finds Sam talking to Henry. He is convincing him to invest in the paper. She tells him that she stopped worrying about the poem. But he has news. The poem has been published on the front page, which unravels something in her. She goes up to her room and gives him all of her poems to publish.
