Q) How would you describe your sound?

A) I would say I sing with emotion and heart. I love using soft, airy tones and keeping it light but warm.

Q) Who are some of your musical influences?

A) Definitely Julia Michaels, Taylor Swift and Dua Lipa. Julia has such honesty in her lyrics and such an amazing vocal style. Taylor Swift carries such confidence and Dua Lipa has such a cool artistry. They’re all such strong women who are so influential on young girls like myself.

Q) You’re also an actress. What made you want to pursue music as well as acting?

A) My love for music actually came before my passion for acting. I was introduced to acting through a casting agent I met in 5th grade. She taught and showed me the acting world and I fell in love with it.

Q) Talk about the story behind your new song “Thinking About You.”

A) I had a crush on this boy that I didn’t know very well and I was just hoping that something would happen with us. I wanted him to like and think about me the way I thought about him. I did a co-write session with Shane Stevens and said I want to write a love song and then we made “Thinking About You.”

Q) What do you think it is about the song that fans connect to?

A) I think it’s a fun song and people connect to it because it shows that it’s okay to have a crush. Everyone goes through the struggle of wanting their crush to like them back and this song really emotes that feeling and the feeling of someone making you happy.

Q) Congrats on the song winning the John Lennon Songwriter International Competition. What did the award mean to you?

A) Thank you! The award really means the world to me and since it was my first single it really means that much more. It’s amazing because it really inspired me to just keep doing what I’m doing and spread my music to others!

Q) What is your song writing process? Do you need music before you can create lyrics?

A) Whenever I write by myself, I usually start with a melody and lyrics in mind and then find chords. Whenever I write with someone else, we usually start with a beat and write to it.

Q) How much of a hand do you have in the production of your music?

A) I come in with ideas, references, chords, and sometimes a backhand melody. All of it really just depends on the process and the song. I always voice my opinion and explain the sound I want.

Q) Will there be a full album or EP coming in the near future?

A) I definitely want to release an EP after I release a few singles.

Q) Where are some of your favorite places to perform and what makes those locations so significant to you?

A) I love singing at Lava Cantina, The House of Blues and Opening Bell Coffee House. Opening Bell really lets me have an intimate show with people and I love doing acoustic sets there. When I performed at The House of Blues and Lava Cantina it really allowed me to see what performing on a big stage was like. I was able to control my lighting and perform with a band which was so much fun.

Q) Who would you most like to collaborate with on a song in the future?

A) I would love to write a song with Julia Micheals or do a duet with Ruelle.

Q) What album/band are you currently listening to and why do you dig them?

A) Right now, I’ve been listening to COIN. I love their songs because they give a sense of nostalgia and have so much emotion behind them. They’re fun to listen to and just have such a nice vibe.

Q) You are a part of social media. Why is that such an important way for you to connect with your fans?

A) It allows me to talk with people from all over and connect with them. It allows me to meet and talk with them even if we can’t do it in real life. I love connecting with people and having conversations with them!

Q) What would you like to say to everyone who is a fan and supporter of you and your work?

A) I would just like to thank you all so much! It’s you guys who allow me to do what I love and share it with the world. It means so much to me and I love you all!
