Q) How would you describe your sound?

A) Pop, Rock n Soul

Q) Who are some of your musical influences?

A) My two biggest musical influences are Aretha Franklin & Tina Turner.

Q) Talk about the story behind your debut single “How Do You Feel.”

A) “How Do You Feel” was written by songwriter Goldiie. The first time I listened to the song the world’s greatest mixer, Jaycen Joshua, played it for me and I immediately knew right there and then that “How Do You Feel” was going to be a great song for me. The power, soul and deep connection felt towards the song; I could sing this song in truth because years ago, God has just pulled me through a heartbreak.

Q) What do you think it is about the song that fans connect to?

A) My fans “Evvie’s Angels” connect emotionally to my single because everyone has experienced heartbreak.

Q) How does the video for the track play into the message behind it?

A) The music video is just like the song; passionate, beautiful and one of a kind.

Q) What is your song writing process? Do you need music before you can create lyrics?

A) The process of writing a song requires deep-digging, soul-seeking diligence. I set the mood and sometimes I need real-live instruments before I begin but depending on what I am feeling at that particular time (whatever the Lord allows for me to feel) that is usually what I will write about.

Q) How much of hand do you have in the production of your music?

A) I’m greatly involved in the production of my music, yet very open. Being surrounded by some of the world’s greatest producers, a lot of the time I am quick to listen and slow to speak; meaning I make sure that I don’t limit myself to only what I’ve experienced. God surrounds us with successful people so that we can grow in grace and in knowledge.

Q) We loved seeing you on “The Four!” What advice did you take to heart while you were filming?

A) Thank you so much! When I earned my seat, Diddy gave me the greatest advice, one of his very first pointers to me. He said, “Don’t get comfortable.” I was on the show and in a seat, the fight was still on, even harder, don’t settle and don’t hold back.

Q) Who from the contestants and judges have you kept in touch with?

A) I have kept in touch with the judges (Diddy, Meghan Trainor and DJ Khaled). I’ve also spoken very closely with Vincint Cannady, who came on the show during the 5th episode and with Candice Boyd.

Q) What can fans expect from a live Evvie performance?

A) When I perform live I always give 1,000,000% My fans can expect me to always to be that Evvie, who is unapologetically free – free in Christ, free in my career and free for them. Everyone will always been entertained.

Q) Will there be a full EP or album coming in the near future?

A) I am currently working on a full album. I am so excited for you all to hear the new music recorded.

Q) Where are some of your favorite places to perform and what makes those locations so significant to you?

A) My all-time favorite place to perform is always back home in Memphis, TN because that is where it all began for me. Memphis is home. I really enjoy performing in small intimate settings because I feel closer physically to my audience.

Q) Who would you most like to collaborate with on a song in the future?

A) I would LOVE to collaborate with Drake, Beyoncé or Chris Brown.

Q) What album/band are you currently listening to and why do you dig them?

A) Currently, I am listening to “Live Free & Love” by Gedeon Luke and The People because this album makes me so happy!

Q) You are a part of social media. Why is that such an important way for you to connect with your fans?

A) Social media is very important to an artist. It is the base foundation for connecting with fans. It gives me the opportunity to share all of my experiences and who I am. It gives my fans and the public the opportunity to learn about me and fall in love with me more and more everyday.

Q) What would you like to say to everyone who is a fan and supporter of you and your work?

A) To all my fans and believers, thank you for your prayers and continued faith and support in me. For a long time I’ve prayed and worked, worked and prayed, for Jesus to give me a foundation in which I may build my empire on and He did. Thank you for supporting me, buying my music, coming to my performance, streaming my music and videos and simply for just loving me. I love you and I encourage you to please keep faith in Our Father, that He too might bring you out of whatever may be holding you back from being YOUR best self. I love you, and God bless you!
