Q) How would you describe your sound?

A) A mix between Missy, Busta & Kanye

Q) Who are some of your musical influences?

A) JAY-Z, Kanye, DMX, Big Sean, Eminem

Q) Talk about the story behind your new song “Drippin.”

A) “Drippin” was a song I held on to for a few years until I could release it with the vision I had. It was created in 2018 in Philly. I knew soon as I recorded it that it was a great song to represent my signature sound.

Q) What do you think it is about the song that fans connect to?

A) I think the fans connect with the bars and character in the song. “Drippin” has a bounce to it, but it also satisfies the listeners who want to hear the bars. I love that the dance community also gravitated to the record.

Q) We’ve recently been seeing the video for “Drippin” on rotation on MTV and BET. What has that meant to you?

A) Witnessing the video premiere on multiple TV networks has been a dream come true. It means so much to me not just as an artist, but as the director and editor of the video.

Q) How does the video for the track play into the message behind it?

A) The idea behind the “Drippin” video was to show young people dripping in culture. The elements of dance were added to purposely show the elevation of dance in hip hop. We added boys, tap dancers, Latin, Jazz and Vogue to embrace all the dope dance styles that make up our dance culture.

Q) What is your song writing process? Do you need music before you can create lyrics?

A) My song writing process can be different depending on the task at hand. When I am just creating I love to have the mood set with LED lights and cool visuals on the screens. I love to just freestyle in the booth and see what happens then build off of that. If I am making a song specifically for a tv placement I always review the direction given and brainstorm concepts off of that. Once I’m done, I use the same method of freestyling to birth some cool flows and references to write to. If I’m lucky, I freestyle the perfect line and run with it.

Q) How much of hand do you have in the production of your music?

A) I play a huge part in the production of my music. Most times I am there with the producer suggesting sounds or samples when they are making the beat. I love to be a part of the production process and watch it all come together and I take pride in making every song elevate throughout the record.

Q) How do you shake off a long day in the studio?

A) After a long studio day, I usually go home and end up in my home studio regardless. [laughs] I try to give myself rest days where I can just hang and build inspiration for new music.

Q) Will there be a full album or EP coming in the near future?

A) I have a few EPs and an album completed. I will be releasing everything in 2022.

Q) Where are some of your favorite places to perform and what makes those locations so significant to you?

A) I love performing at my Kreative kickbacks. It’s usually a private location, invite only event, but it always ends up filled with dope creators. Not only is it great for networking, but it’s a love atmosphere every time. Everyone who attends appreciates the art and that always makes the show more intimate and powerful.

Q) Who would you most like to collaborate with on a song in the future?

A) I would love to collab with the greats like Missy, Busta [Rhymes], Ye, Chance [The Rapper] and Big Sean. Also, there’s new artists that I really respect and would love to create with like, Tobi Lou, Tobe & Fat, Anderson Paak & LATTO.

Q) What album/band are you currently listening to and why do you dig them?

A) I honestly always keep my music on shuffle. I love finding new artists. My playlist has music from so many artists- Beyoncé, Ye, Drake, JAY-Z, Musical Kay, DoJa Cat, Jadakiss, Anderson Paak, Teyanna Taylor and so many more.

Q) You are a part of social media. Why is that such an important way for you to connect with your fans?

A) I have a strong presence on social media. I believe social media plays a huge part in an artist’s career nowadays. I love that I can connect with people all over the world from my phone and earn new fans daily with my music. I work daily to stay up on the latest with social media because I know it’s going to be a factor. I’ve seen what a viral video can do. With “YBM” and “Drippin,” both had viral moments on multiple social media platforms and each time it gave new people a chance to discover me.

Q) What would you like to say to everyone who is a fan and supporter of you and your work?

A) I want my fans and supporters to know that I am grateful for them, and I have so much more to give them in the near future. I cannot wait to release my next single and EP, and although I’ve dropped a lot of new stuff with all types of vibes and flows this year, there’s still some surprises coming soon for everyone.
