The Flash – Gone Rogue

XS (Jessica Parker Kennedy) is racing through a building looking for blueprints. She gets the info she needs and then she throws a lightning bolt at the technology. She asks Gideon to send an analysis, but Gideon tells her the odds of her accessing it on her own are 1 in 3 million. Gideon asks if she should send a request to Barry (Grant Gustin), but XS declines and says she needs people who can actually help her.

The Flash is racing around, placing tachyon scanners all around the city. Cisco (Carlos Valdes) and Caitlin (Danielle Panabaker) have also got the satellites and seismometer ready. With everything set, Iris (Candice Patton), Barry, Cisco, and Caitlin watch the screen for any sign of Nora. They don’t get an immediate hit. Cisco asks how do they know if she’s actually there and Iris tells him it’s because Thawne (Tom Cavanagh) showed her a new way to time travel that can’t be detected. But if she starts running again, they’ll be able to bring her home. Sherloque (Tom Cavanagh) and Ralph (Hartley Sawyer) join them with news of still being unable to find Cicada 2.0 (Sarah Carter). They still have no idea why she stole the cryo-atomizer, aside from the fact that it killed Caitlin’s dad. Barry and Cisco ask her if she needs to take some time, but she says she’d rather be working. Ralph offers to help her find the atomizer. Sherloque tells them he’ll continue looking for Nora and leaves. When he does, they get an alert for a break in at an architecture firm. Cisco grabs his gear so he can assist while Caitlin gets an alert from her dad’s old lab.

Sherloque gets an alert on his phone. He’s getting some messages from Renee (Kimberly Williams-Paisley) sending him emoji messages. Cisco comes in while he’s explaining to return The Book of Ralph to Ralph. Ralph thinks it’s time to hand it over to Sherloque, but he doesn’t think he needs it. Cisco says he’s great with Kamilla now, but Sherloque mentions how he still hasn’t told her about his metahuman life. As Cisco is getting on the elevator, he says he’ll tell her right then because he’s not worried anymore. But he has bad reception in the elevator and has to get to work.

Cisco’s scanning the machines while Iris tells Joe (Jesse L. Martin) what she found out from one of the architects. The associates there were doing some high profile work and have been working with an anonymous client. Barry tells them that the machine looks like it was fried from the inside. Barry explains a surge protector would have a thousand joules and Iris asks how many a lightning bolt would have. Barry doesn’t think it was her because the scanner didn’t pick up on it. However, Cisco has scanned some negative tachyons which makes them conclude that the negative tachyons are stealing speed from the speedforce like a parasite. That’s what Thawne taught her how to do. They wonder why Nora’s trying to avoid them and realize this isn’t going to be her last stop.

Brie Larvan, The Bug-Eyed Bandit (Emily Kinney), rides into a warehouse with Joss Mardon, Weather Witch (Reina Hardesty), waiting inside. Brie’s been in Star City helping cure a spinal tumor while Joss has last been heard of in Bolivia with Silver Ghost. They start to talk about how she was trying to recruit the both of them but the top of a box starts to fly off and Rag Doll (Troy James) begins contorting himself out of it. They recognize him and he asks who he should thank for his invitation. Nobody knows at first until XS comes out of the back saying that she invited them.

XS wants them to work with her under the condition that they don’t kill. They’re reluctant and Joss definitely doesn’t want to work with her. Nora tells them that she isn’t working with The Flash anymore, but Joss still tries to leave. XS brings up how Joss helped her escape the last time with the car. XS tells them she’s changed over the past few months. They agree and XS shows them the blueprint. XS needs to steal something, but requires their help because there is a metahuman dampener. She tells them that there are hundreds of weapons inside and all they need is to make a pit stop to rob The Flash first.

Ralph and Caitlin are at her dad’s old lab and it’s clear that Cicada 2.0 has been there. Ralph asks if Killer Frost still has a tough time because of Caitlin’s dad’s death and she explains how he protected Killer Frost at one point. This is her own pain. Ralph gives Caitlin a step by step guide to pain and Killer Frost pops out to seal the hole in the ceiling.

Cecile (Danielle Nicolet) tells Iris she found out that G. Simone and Associates, a weapons manufacturer, has been working with McCulloch Technologies over the past year. Cecile pieces together that they have a heist on their hands, but Iris doesn’t think so. She tells Cecile that she’s on a mission for Thawne and he doesn’t think that small. Iris suggests that they dig into figuring out what kind of weapons are being made. While she’s speaking, Cecile wonders if there is anything else Iris wants to talk about because she senses something. Iris tells her that Nora knew she wanted her to come back and, even though she’s mad at Barry, if she wanted a weapon she could have just come to them for help. She knows there is a reason.

Barry’s looking at the scanners waiting for an alert on Nora. Sherloque mentions how she has good reason not to want to come back. Barry understands that they bother were pissed, but they’ve had time to get over it. Barry thinks if he tells her she can come home again that she’ll stop working for Thawne. They get an alert from the Starchives and Barry rushes away.

Nora’s grabbing a device out of the Starchives when he gets there. Sherloque and Cisco try to head down through the elevators, but see an alert coming from the sewage system. When they look up Rag Doll is on the ceiling. Barry asks Nora what she’s doing, but Nora tells him he wouldn’t believe her if she told him. He tells her how they all want her to come home, but she has to stop working with Thawne. Rag Doll tells her that their target is acquired and she replies through her earpiece. Barry asks if she’s talking to someone and Nora starts to get mad because she thinks he means that she’s talking to Thawne. He tells her she didn’t say that, but she mentions how he said she couldn’t come back if she’s still working with Thawne. Barry says that forgiveness takes time. Nora asks what will stop him from turning her back on her again. She starts to vibrate and yells at Barry because she only came back to meet him and the second she arrived he started to push her away. He left her in the future and didn’t come to save her in the future with her mom. Barry tries to calm her by moving forward but she gets too angry and blasts him with her purple and red lighting into a shelf as she runs out.

Barry comes into Iris’ office to tell her and Cecile what just happened with Nora. He tells them that she stole Spencer Young’s phone that hypnotizes and that he couldn’t convince her to come home. He tells them how Nora’s eyes turned red like Thawne’s. He thought they had time to reach her, but he thinks Thawne really got to her. They get an alert about someone having been in Star Labs five minutes ago. They see that it was Joss and Peter dragging away Cisco and Sherloque. They realize that Nora is working with them.

Cisco and Sherloque are shocked to see Rag Doll, Weather Witch and Bug-Eyed Bandit standing in front of them. XS comes in wondering why Sherloque is there and they tell her that they had to take both because they were together. Cisco is shocked that XS is with them. They need Cisco to hack past the coding in the phone. Cisco tries to play it cool and make a joke, but XS starts to vibrate her hand and move it towards his heart to threaten him. Sherloque tells XS he owes her an apology because he put his own pride above the family and then the others realize that her father is The Flash.

Caitlin and Ralph are still in the lab. They see that she stole something that could be used to help coma patients. Caitlin asks why Ralph really brought her there. She thinks it’s the same way he tried to help Cisco and Sherloque. She asks him if he wants to use his Book of Ralph for himself, but he says he’s not built for love. Caitlin gives him some encouraging words and Ralph thinks she’s trying to hti on him. She is visibly repulsed and then she realizes something. She sees that Cisco’s prototypes for the metahuman cure are missing and she may know what Cicada 2.0 is planning.

Sherloque and Cisco are still sitting in the warehouse. Sherloque talks about how he feels these things about his past relationships. He found out that in his current relationship he’s not the one holding a secret – she is. She’s a metahuman. Cisco asks him isn’t that the same as holding a secret. Sherloque asks him if the reason he isn’t sharing his identity with Kamilla is because he’s not super satisfied with his identity. Sherloque tells him he had to b honest with himself too.

Iris, Cecile and Joe are piecing together Nora’s plan while Barry listens from the couch. They found out that the city had these people clean up the S.T.A.R. Labs shrapnel and they used it to create meta-tech. McCulloch is devoting a new line of products. Iris thinks Nora wants to catch Cicada, but Barry thinks she wants to do something worse. Barry wants to bring Nora in before she does anything else and he gets up to leave with Iris rushing after him.

Iris tells Barry that they can’t keep treating Nora like she’s a super-villain, but it’s only going to push her away. Barry thinks they should try to figure out why she’s doing it, but Barry doesn’t care because it’s Thawne’s plan. Iris believes maybe his plan isn’t so bad, but Barry still doesn’t think it’s okay for her to work with Thawne because Iris said that he was manipulating her. Iris tells him that she also said Thawne cared about Nora. Barry thinks he just needs her, but Iris suggests that maybe Thawne’s changed. Iris explains that Thawne convinced her to come home and patch things up with him. According to Iris maybe Thawne is trying to stop Cicada and the only reason Nora hasn’t come home is because she knows that Barry doesn’t trust her. Iris tells Barry that having Nora in their lives has made them better people and it’s possible she did the same with Thawne.

Nora has a pass under the code name Lt. Jenni Ognats to break into the building. Her and Joss aren’t trusting of each other and Joss tells Nora she knows her name now. Nora confides in Joss how her dad left him, but there’s still a part of her that wants her dad back. Joss shares her story of her parental issues. All of them have had problems with their mentors or parents letting them down. Cisco yells that he’s done and they go in to see him. He gives them the reprogrammed phone with visual and audio capabilities. They tie him back up and send the bees in to keep them locked down. The others leave the room with Sherloque and Cisco being hypnotized by the bees.

Joe walks into Barry’s lab as he’s watching old security footage of Cisco’s old speedster trap. He apologizes for his behavior earlier and Joe tells him he understands. He thinks Nora should have repercussions, but he has to remind himself of his father side and his law side. He’s always going to choose to be a father first. Barry sees his problem. He was ready to give up on Nora, so he thinks that he isn’t a good parent and may never be. Joe tried to reassure her, but Barry tells him that it still doesn’t feel right when Nora calls him “dad.” Joe tells him that it takes time just like it did for Barry because he already had a dad. He asks if he thinks Iris is right about Nora and Iris’ plan. Joe says he doesn’t trust Thawne, but he does trust Nora. If they want Nora home, Barry will have to trust her too.

Cisco and Sherloque come out of their hypnotized state because rigged the lab to go into drone mode. They break out of their cuffs and aggravate the bees enough to send them into a breach.

Nora, Joss and Brie make their way into the tech building in disguise. As they’re being led down the hall they ask about a door and when the man tells them they can’t go that way, they attack them. With the other men on the ground, the girls get their gear together start their theft. Nora places the suitcase with Rag Doll inside on the table. He contorts his way out and then slithers his way into a pipe to unlock the door from the other side. The girls go in with Rag Doll on guard. They see the meta-dampener. When Nora tells them to load up as the last part of the plan she’s blindsided when Joss and Brie turn on her.

Weather Witch and Bug Eyed-Bandit live stream to Central City to say that the employees are in danger unless The Flash comes to the building and reveals his identity. They still want the money, but they just want to make a name for themselves first. Before they can start hurting people The Flash shows up, but when he starts talking Joss realizes that he’s acting strange and she blasts him because she isn’t falling for the hologram trick again. While they’d were watching him, one of the employees was unbuckling his handcuffs. We see that Sherloque was behind the hologram.

When one of the employees tells them not to be confused, the girls turn around and see three employees change into The Flash, Joe and Iris. They got past the security and followed them inside. Brie sends her bees and Joss runs for the dampener. Joe and Iris get the other employees out of the building. Before they can make it back inside Rag Doll comes out of the trash can. Barry can’t get rid of the bees so he asks for Cisco’s help. Rag Doll throws the trash an at Iris and goes to attack Joe. Joe throws some punches but Rag Doll dodges them all. Weather Witch uses her weapon and hits the vehicle Barry and Nora are hiding behind. Barry goes to create a diversion, leaving a distressed Nora to shoot the dampener. Joe gets a hold of Rag Doll and Iris gets up to finish the job. Cisco gets the bees to shutdown. Before Nora can shot at Joss we see Joss shoot Barry. He gets knocked down, but when his lighting doesn’t stop sparking he realizes that he isn’t the only one. The satellite is destroyed. Barry stands with Nora as their purple, red and yellow lightning circles around them. Nora tells him that he was there with her the whole time. Barry tells her that he abandoned her once and he won’t do it again. They quickly tie Weather Witch and Bug Eyed-Bandit up.

They’re looking at the Young Rogues and Iris tells Nora they’re not the nicest people she could have made friends with. She tells them that she got in over her head, but she needed them for a good reason. Barry thinks it’s to kill Cicada, but Nora goes to get the weapon capable of destroying Cicada’s dagger. Iris asks why she didn’t just tell them and Barry replies, “Because she knew I wouldn’t believe her because it’s Thawne’s plan.” Nora tells them how she knew how angry Barry was. She also had to stay in an unschway headspace to use the negative speed force. She says she understands if they don’t want to use Thawne’s plan, but Barry agrees to using it. They needs to stop Cicada and this sounds like their best shot. Barry tells Nora that he believes in her. They both apologize for the things they’ve done and said. Iris tells her that they’ll never leave her again.

Cisco says Nora’s story checks out with the mirror gun. Caitlin figures out what Cicada took and that she’s weaponizing the cure so she can kill every metahuman in the city.

Future Grace recites the rhyme she knew from Orlin while young Grace (Islie Hirvonen) lays in her bed still unconscious. She’s working on the device that she stole as Orlin (Chris Klein) stands over her finishing the rhyme with her.
