Top 3 TV Moments – 2/4 – 2/8

All of your favorite shows have mostly returned from Winter hiatus so I’ll be starting the new year by picking the best drama, comedy, and sci-fi/fantasy moments each week. They may sometimes be equipped with some of your favorite ships or tear-jerking moments, so keep reading if you are still not over what happened on your favorite TV show this week!

Drama: Chicago Fire, “The Plunge” – Foster doesn’t back down!

Emily Foster’s (Annie Ilonzeh) suspicious admirer, Dr. Jim Shaw (Patrick Mulvey) took a drastic turn this week. After turning him down again, Foster walked right up to him in the hospital and told him the kind of behavior she wasn’t going to tolerate. Even when he tried to come ambush her, she had the force of the Chicago Fire department behind her. I love Foster and I never for one second thought that she would let this man get to her. It’s great to see her fierceness continue to show in each episode. She’s had so many issues with EMS, so it’s nice to see that she never lets the complications slow her down.

Comedy: Grown-ish, “Messy”– Enthusiastic Sober Consent

This week’s episode of grown-ish voiced a lot of points on the topic of consent when SoCal’s star basketball player got mixed up in a scandal. When the group begins to discuss men being pressured into these situations by women, I was so interested their points of view. This moment was my favorite because people still find it hard for to discuss men getting coerced into sexual situations. The discussion brought up a lot of good points from both the girls and the boys. I always love the open discussions on this show and this was a tough topic to discuss. I would have liked for them to have shown that the characters really understood where each side was coming from, instead of just blowing it off. But it’s definitely nice to know that they think of the actions and how they play out.

Sci-fi/Fantasy: The Passage, “Whose Blood Is That?” – The final transition.

We watched Anthony Carter (McKinley Belcher III) come from death row to the facility where we hoped he wouldn’t turn into whatever form of vampire they have locked in the basement. Welp, that ship has sailed because in the final moments of the episode Anthony eventually made that transition. I particularly love this moment because after all the effort to stop the transition from happening, you could see how this particular changeover affected Dr. Jonas Lear (Henry ian Cusick) and Dr. Major Nichole Sykes (Caroline Chikezie). Although I wasn’t too fond of the backstory on Anthony, I still got closer to his character in this episode. It hurt a lot more to see him transition and it’ll be interesting to see how his relationship with Amy (Saniyya Sidney) changes.
