Top 3 TV Moments – February 2 – February 7

By  |

Each week I’ll be picking the best drama, comedy or reality TV and sci-fi/fantasy moments from the shows of the prior week. They may sometimes be equipped with some of your favorite ships or tear-jerking moments. So, keep reading if you are still not over what happened on your favorite TV show this week!

Drama: Chicago PD, “I Was Here” – Cruelly heartbreaking

Kim (Marina Squerciati) took a break from her low duty to investigate a case this week. Although she tried to stay away she got tied into the roughest part, which ended up being detrimental for her unborn baby. Squerciati’s performance during the fight scene was so deeply convincing and effective that it made this scene one of the hardest to watch, especially having to see Kim repeatedly get hit in the stomach and then painfully struggle to get to the girl in the bathtub. This moment was definitely life changing for Kim and will change the trajectory of her character.

Comedy/Reality TV: Outmatched, “Grandparents” – Common Interests

Grandparents always give us good laughs and this episode of Outmatched has plenty of those. After Kay (Maggie Lawson) gets jealous of Sylvia (Caroline Aaron) and Nicole (Ashley Boettcher) spending so much time together and actually talking about more than Mike (Jason Biggs), she tries to find more that they have in common. She eventually finds a common ground with her mother-in-law and I really enjoyed seeing them able to finally bond over something. Kay is still going to have to work on things with her daughter, but she’s a teenager right now. So, she’ll make a full circle to telling her mom everything again one day.

Sci-fi/Fantasy: Locke & Key – “The Keeper of the Keys” – It’s not all fun and games anymore.

The siblings have all started to use the keys at their leisure. They quickly learn that handling the keys comes with risks. When Dodge (Laysla De Oliveira) catches up to Bode (Jackson Robert Scott), he realizes that she isn’t allowed to take the keys from them. He outsmarts her for a moment, but she leaves him with words that mean their encounters are far from over. This high intensity moment set the stage for the rest of the series. At this moment, I know we were about to start learning a lot more of what the keys can do and who’s all involved with them. I’m loving this series so far and highly recommend it!
