Kelsey (Hilary Duff) informs Liza (Sutton Foster) that she’s resigning from Millennial and that she’s written a letter to Charles (Peter Hermann) who will read it upon reaching the office. Liza is shook and she rushes to get the letter before Charles does. Kelsey follows her. Liza grabs the letter but is caught by Charles. She lies about it being a naughty letter she’d written to him but is taking it back now as it’s inappropriate for the office. However, Kelsey gets in time and tells the truth. She cannot be an Editor where she was once a publisher. Charles is unhappy with her decision and asks her to take a break and rethink, but Kelsey remains undeterred.

Lauren (Molly Bernard) and Diana (Miriam Shor) are discussing honeymoon details and Liza barges in to inform about a postponed pitch meeting. Diana hates the last minute surprise work engagements that Kelsy has gifted them with before leaving. Liza misses her. Diana tries to cheer her up. Liza informs that Kelsey will be there for the wedding. Lauren mentions that Kelsey won’t make it to the pre-wedding spa, but Enzo’s (Chris Tardio) sisters will fill the void. They want mustache waxes, too. Diana cringes and soon rushes to check out uncle Joe’s (Teddy Coluca) wedding gift and takes her maid of honor along.

Kelsey meets with Zane (Charles Michael Davis) to reveal her plan of starting a publication company and that she needs his feedback. Zane asks her not to do it as it’s cold out there. He reminds her how she pushed him away when he tried offering support and that she’s got ego issues. Kelsey explains that she needed to feel good about herself before getting into a relationship. Zane asks her to make the next move if she wants something serious. He wishes her luck and leaves.

Liza and Diana visit uncle Joe’s workshop. They are introduced to him by Enzo. Uncle Joe unveils the gift. It’s an ice sculpture of a fish jumping out of a toilet, the toilet representing Enzo and the Diana representing the beautiful fish. Diana covers up her disgust well. Liza doesn’t like it either.

Kelsey has a talk with Maggie (Debi Mazar) on how she’s having no success with her pitching and wonders if ego is actually the problem. Maggie feels ego is necessary and advises her to make deals with the devil if need be. The next day Kelsey successfully pitches to Quinn Tyler (Laura Benanti).

Liza and Diana are at the pitch meeting where Redmond (Michael Urie) is accompanying  author Nate (Nicholas Richardson). The book speaks about the boons of unplugging from social media. Nate refers to his epiphanic experience of being stuck in Thailand for seventy-two hours without Wi-Fi where he fell in love with the simpler life and discovered the “Joy Of Missing Out,” hence the title “JOMO.” Diana wonders if it’d connect with social media-addicted millennials whereas Liza feels it’d be therapeutic. Seeing them vacillate, Redmond misses the quick instinctive Kelsey and suggests a title change from Millennial to Menopausal. He asks them to get back if it’s a yes. Diana asks Liza to un-invite Redmond.

Charles and Liza have lunch. Liza shares how stressed she is with Kelsey’s absence and Diana’s wedding. He asks her to join him and his daughters for a summer vacation to Scotland and also wishes for Caitlyn to come along. After some apprehension, Liza agrees to talk to her. They’re interrupted by Quinn who is surprised by the bombarding blasts from the past in less than a week. She mentions that she’s going into business with one of their ex-employees. Charles and Liza hope it’s not Kelsey.

Lauren and Maggie visit uncle Joe. Maggie coaxes him into gifting a different art piece at the wedding and exhibiting this masterpiece at a studio. While she goes in to check out his work Lauren sits on the ice toilet naked in order to click a selfie and gets stuck on it. Maggie tries disengaging her by pouring hot liquid. Wounded, Lauren accidentally breaks the fish’s head while climbing out, ruining the sculpture.

Kelsey and Liza meet over drinks and she reveals about her deal with Quinn Tyler. Liza fails to talk her out of it, but confirms her attendance at the wedding. They soon start talking about Josh (Nico Tortorella). Liza explains that she felt they needed some time-out. This brings her to JOMO. The initial briefing seems enough for Kelsey to hate the pitch and she hopes that Millennial passed on it.

Josh is readying for the shop launch. Shelly (Annaleigh Ashford) comes to check out some of his designs. She loves one particular sketch which, as per Josh, represents time standing still or a moment that lasts a lifetime. She loves the inspirational side of it and is sure that it’d sell a ton. Josh isn’t sure because that sketch doesn’t belong to him. Shelly requests he at least seek permission.

The wedding day has arrived! Liza makes Charles sit near Kelsey and asks him not to bring up the Quinn topic. She greets Enzo’s mom Filomena (Camille Saviola) who’s anxious from a bad omen she just saw – a crow flying upper-side down on the way over. Liza says that it’s bad luck for the crow and goes to get Diana from the car.

Charles asks Kelsey to come back. She stresses that she needs something she can own but Charles reminds her of Millennial and the sacrifices she made. He even offers her stakes of the company and a place on the board of directors. Kelsey is out of words. Charles asks her to think on it and hopes she’d return back to the family.

Diana appreciates Liza for serving as her sober, yet occasionally white hot, Maid of Honor. Liza is happy for her. Soon, Diana walks down the aisle. Zane stands besides Kelsey. She holds his hand as a sign of reaching out and they reconcile. Josh comes as Lauren’s plus one.

Later at the party Lauren and Maggie seem to rekindle. Diana and Enzo have their first dance. Josh and Liza cross paths. Both are glad to have run into each other as neither of them liked the way they ended things earlier. Josh asks Liza about licensing and promoting that tattoo of hers. She says yes initially but shortly realizes it means so much more to her and that she wouldn’t want it on anyone else. Josh is visibly content with her decision.

Charles asks Liza for a dance. He reminds her of how many ups and downs they have faced as a couple over the last few months. He wants to spend the rest of his life with her and proposes marriage. Liza is taken aback. Before she’s able to answer Kelsey shouts yes! She realizes that she made the wrong decision of leaving Millennial. All the friends form a human chain and encircle Liza. As they dance away, Charles waits on the outside eager for Liza’s reply.
